Emergency Preparedness
Emergency preparedness is based on two different tasks: Training and Response.
Training will be provided on board by the Safety Officer - on shore by the DPA/CSO.
Due to recent refugee issues in the MED area, we provide the official IMO guideline to the ships command.

SMPEP
The IMO publishes a new contact list (MSC-MEPC.6/Circ.x) for the SMPEP quarterly. Only those contacts of the ships trading area must be printed!
The list can be downloaded at www.imo.org. Go to "National Contacts " and look for "MSC-MEPC.6/Circ.x (ANNEX 2 for SOPEP)". The latest list is on this CD ...
Ship/Shore Exercise
Once a year, the DPA/CSO will initiate a safety and security exercise will be held with one ship of the fleet. The report will be sent to all ships of the fleet. Every year, another ship and another scenario will be chosen.

Emergency Instructions
A SOLAS cabin card with necessary emergency instructions has been developed which shall be posted in each cabin and in other prominent places like Bridge, ECR and the Messroom.
Furthermore, a label for the Safety Muster List is available, showing the MARSEC Level, the SSO and the officer who is responsible for maintenance and readiness of all LSA and FSS on board.
